When experiencing a “sustainable day”, the reporter found that carbon-neutral coffee, new energy vehicles to seed tickets, sustainable meals, green and low-carbon products, and a circular economy have penetrated daily life.

Approaching the Starbucks booth, the unique aroma of coffee grounds hits you, and the huge slogan “The coffee cup starts its regeneration journey here” is particularly eye-catching. The drawing board in the corner of the booth shows the “green destination” of beverage packaging made of different materials such as paper packaging and plastic packaging after recycling.

In all Starbucks stores in mainland China, the green aprons worn by baristas are also made of recycled PET beverage bottles after deep cleaning. The green apron reduces carbon emissions by 1 kg in its life cycle.

Starbucks booth staff said that by the end of 2022, all Starbucks hot drink cup lids in the mainland will be upgraded to easily recyclable polypropylene; by increasing the height of corrugated paper but reducing the thickness of the paper, the overall material used in Starbucks cup covers can be reduced by 12% while ensuring the insulation effect, and it is expected to reduce 100 tons of material per year.

According to reports, Starbucks plans to reduce carbon emissions, water use, and waste emissions by 50% in the global coffee production and processing operations by 2030 compared with 2019.

In the center of the Tesla booth, the Cyber ​​​​off-road travel car was surrounded by people checking in and taking photos. It is understood that this product is the world’s first mass-produced model with a 48V low-voltage architecture, which has revolutionized the 12V architecture that has been used in the automotive industry for more than 70 years and opened the patent to the whole society. This architecture greatly reduces the weight and space occupied by the wiring harness, increases vehicle space while reducing vehicle weight, improving battery life, and reducing charging times and charging costs.

At this carbon expo, Tesla unveiled the “mystery” of the motor system for the first time and exhibited in-depth disassembly parts: using silicon carbide MOSFET power components to improve motor control accuracy and achieve lower energy consumption for an electric drive; unique process technology, and innovative application of silver sintering technology to significantly reduce product heat dissipation loss and achieve longer vehicle endurance; efficient material utilization, lighter weight, and smaller volume, improve product power density and achieve higher material utilization.

At the booth of SGS, a third-party testing, inspection, and certification service provider, reporters saw that SGS has issued product and material EPD certificates, carbon footprint certificates, and greenhouse gas verification certificates at the organizational level for several companies, involving many common industries such as textiles and clothing, furniture, and logistics.

For example, Shanghai Electric displayed the three core application scenarios of the Shagohuang Base, the Offshore Energy Base, and the Three-dimensional Zero-Carbon Industrial Park. Shanghai Electric staff said that the new power system is an important component of China’s new energy system and a key carrier for achieving the “dual carbon” goal. It is also a key scenario for Shanghai Electric to reduce carbon.

Relying on its rich accumulation in the field of traditional energy equipment and its forward-looking layout in the field of new energy, Shanghai Electric also released four new “dual carbon” products for wind storage and hydrogen networks. Specifically, it includes the world’s largest 16MW low-frequency offshore wind turbine, the world’s largest single-unit capacity 500kW/2MWh vanadium iron flow battery, the “Z” series alkaline electrolyzer with a single tank hydrogen production of 1000-3000 standard cubic meters/hour, and 25Mvar high-inertia flight control combination integrated equipment.

As AI empowers thousands of industries, the demand for data centers has grown exponentially, and “green computing power” has also attracted much attention. At this Carbon Expo, Green Cloud Map, a provider of liquid-cooled data center solutions, reached cooperation with Huakun Zhenyu, a leading domestic computing power company, and Zhejiang Noah, a professional immersion liquid cooling fluoride liquid provider.

Relying on their respective technologies and advantages, they will jointly create an integrated immersion liquid cooling solution, restore the real liquid cooling application scenarios of data centers, and jointly promote the development of green computing power. Green high-performance buildings, energy tunnels, zero-carbon blocks… At this Carbon Expo, the “blueprint” of green and low-carbon future cities was also slowly unfolded. Theoretical research on green and low-carbon cities has made significant progress in recent years, providing an important theoretical basis and practical guidance for this Carbon Expo.

Tunnel Co., Ltd. demonstrated the new “energy tunnel” technology at this Carbon Expo. Highway and rail transit tunnels buried deep underground in the city can “automatically collect” shallow geothermal energy for heating and cooling buildings, reduce the dependence of buildings on fossil energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Shenneng Shares, a subsidiary of Shenneng Group, displayed multiple “photovoltaic +” new scene application cases at this Carbon Expo. According to relevant persons in charge of Shenneng Shares, after Shenneng Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Shanghai Airport Group, Shenneng Shares successively invested in the construction of distributed photovoltaic power generation projects in the P4 long-term parking garage at Shanghai Pudong Airport and the South Pumping Station of Hongqiao Airport, and deployed green renewable energy at the airport.

The total capacity of the projects under construction and to be built is about 26.7 megawatts. After full capacity is put into production, the annual power generation is expected to reach 26 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 10,000 tons per year. Shenneng Power has optimized the design of photovoltaic systems according to local conditions. It has currently installed distributed photovoltaic power generation systems on roofs of more than 40,000 square meters in 60 schools in Shanghai, basically forming a large-scale application of “photovoltaic + school” scenarios.
